You’ll come face to face with sharks and octopus and get chance to learn all about how they live. There are regular talks and feed demonstrations to keep you interested as you explore life below the ocean waves and be sure to check out the exciting new exhibit for 2002, the awesome Lethal Reef that includes the highly poisonous scorpion fish and killer rays.
Grove Park was originally opened way back in 1891 as an area of natural beauty for locals to enjoy. However, in more recent years it has taken on a new look thanks to the famous Ground Force team. After the tragic death of locally born celebrity Jill Dando it was decided that Grove Park should include a memorial garden to celebrate her life, so Ground Force gardeners Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, along with a hardworking team, created a truly beautiful garden with calming water features and flowers covered pergolas known as Jill’s Garden, that is well worth a visit.
A short trip out to the north of Weston-super-Mare along the coast takes you out to Sand Point, a picturesque headland owned by the National Trust where you can enjoy a scenic costal path walk. Carry on driving further north and you reach the town of Clevedon that gives you an alternative to the hustle and bustle of Weston-super-Mare. Clevedon enjoys a slow pace of life with unspoilt Victorian houses giving the area a very special charm. Clevedon also has its own pier and a whole host of bar and restaurants to choose from.
